Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does he prospers.
Psalm 1:1-3
Those verses are why I chose the name A Rooted Woman for this blog. I want to be like the tree planted by streams of water that yields fruit and doesn’t wither. Christ, and all of His promises are the stream of water that feeds the roots of Christians. Through God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, He will prosper us – not necessarily materially, but in ways that are richer, more beautiful and more fulfilling than any worldly prosperity. A tree that is firmly rooted is not uprooted when the strong winds blow. The same can be said for a believer who is firmly rooted in Christ and the Word of God.
Knowing Him more
Trusting Him more
Believing Him more
Obeying Him more
Loving Him more
Rejoicing in Him more
…those are roots that I want to grow deep in my life. Don’t you?
I desire to live a life that bears fruit for the glory of His name – that He would receive glory for all that I do. I want my life to point to the magnificent grace that is found only in the Lord. I want to decrease and I want Him to increase in my life.
Hence, this blog…
My prayer is that when you read these blog posts they would always point you to Christ – not to Jenn. Thank you for joining me on this journey to grow deeper roots in Christ.
May He be glorified.
Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.
Revelation 4:11
