God reigns over the nations;
Psalm 47:8
God sits on his holy throne.
Yes! and AMEN!
I have grown to love verses that extol the sovereignty of God. (In case you haven’t noticed). It is a Truth that has brought me so much comfort over the years and helped me put things in the right perspective when life feels overwhelming. There is something about knowing that such a good and gracious King rules over the affairs of HIS creation and does so according to his perfect plans and purposes. Knowing that He does all things for His glory, and ultimately for the good of those he calls his own – us – is one of the most comforting, peace-giving, praiseworthy realities of this life.
Nothing – NOTHING – happens outside of his power and control. He knows the beginning from the end. He is not surprised or perplexed by anything that happens. Since before He spoke the world into existence he has been moving all of history – and none of his plans can be thwarted or thrown off track, no matter how much it may look like it to us. We are a blip on the screen of all history. We see a tiny speck of a glimpse of the big picture. He sees it all – from beginning to end – because he is sovereign, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present and the list goes on.
This is the God I serve. This is the God who saves through His Son. This is the God is worthy of everything I have to give because He gave me everything I have! Amen and Amen!
