Hear my cry, O God,
Psalm 61:1-3
listen to my prayer;
2 from the end of the earth I call to you
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
3 for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
In times of trouble and hardship, our peace comes from knowing that when we cry out to God, He does hear us. He leads us to the Rock that is higher than we are – Christ. He is always a refuge for us in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). As those who are rooted in Christ – we of all people have the most cause for rejoicing, even in times of distress. The steadfast love of the Lord, His sovereignty, His grace, His mercy, His patience, and His kindness toward us – are all reasons for us to sing His praises as we walk through this life. When we keep our eyes and hearts on these truths – we too can rejoice, and praise His name as the psalmist does.
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
Sola Deo Gloria!
